NuGen 5 Step Filtration
Most people think that installing a water purification system is expensive. However, it’s actually very affordable and easy to install. The NuGen 5 Reverse Osmosis Water Purification system uses a combination of advanced filtration technologies to remove unwanted water contaminants and produces quality water anytime you want it.
Reverse osmosis water purification systems eliminate chlorine and sediment from water with a prefilter before putting the water through a semipermeable membrane to get rid of dissolved solids. Once the water passes through the reverse osmosis membrane, it flows through a postfilter to polish the water before it enters the faucet. RO water purification systems go through several stages, postfilters, and prefilters to produce water that’s both pure and tastes great.
This Nugen 5 stage RO system combines the most advanced reverse osmosis purification and extruded carbon filtration technologies to produce the best quality water available to homeowners.
NuGen RO-5-50 Filtration Process
Stage 1: Sediment Prefilter
The NuGen reverse osmosis purification systems begin with multiple sentiment prefilters to remove larger particulate matter from the water.
Stage 2: Granular Activated Carbon Prefilter
The water goes through a granular activated carbon prefilter to trap organic chemicals. These prefilters are crucial for membrane protection, and to lessen the chlorine that may still be present in the water.
Stage 3: Carbon Block Prefilter
Carbon block filters go above and beyond in eliminating extra particles. They function like screen doors – keeping unwanted, dangerous elements out.
Stage 4: TFC Membrane (the R.O. Process)
The TFC (Thin Film Composite) membrane is a fully aromatic polyamide film that is specially constructed to produce clean water. At this stage, water is forced through the membrane to eliminate minerals, bacteria, and cysts. This is regarded as the center of the water filtration system.
Stage 5: Carbon Postfilter
After going through the TFC membrane, the water is treated by a solid carbon block postfilter in order to trap any remaining contaminants. This post filter is found in the holding tank, and is designed to remove the odors and tastes that pass through. It’s the final stage, or the “finishing touch” to the water. Then, the fully treated water is stored in a reservoir for future use.
